چکیده

Finite-element analysis is used to study the thermal deformation of a multilayer mirror due heat load from undulator beam at low-emittance synchrotron source, specifically ESRF-EBS upgrade beamline EBSL-2. The energy bandwidth double-multilayer monochromator larger than that relevant harmonic, such considerable portion reflected. Consequently, absorbed power non-uniformly distributed on surface. geometry substrate optimized minimize thermally induced slope errors. We distinguish between bending with constant curvature leads astigmatic focusing or defocusing and residual For EBSL-2 system grazing angles ? 0.2 0.4°, meridional sagittal focal lengths down 100 m 2000 m, respectively, are found. Whereas can be tuned by varying depth `smart cut', it found has little effect In both planes they 0.1–0.25 µrad. direction, however, drastically reduced `foregiveness factor', sin(?). Optimization without considering reflected yields an incorrect cut'. resulting in turn parasitic order m.

Performance of the Double Multilayer Monochromator

A tunable, double multilayer x-ray monochromator has recently been implemented on the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS) X25 wiggler beam line. It is based on a parallel pair of tungsten-boron-carbide multilayer films grown on silicon substrates and purchased from Osmic, Inc. of Troy, Michigan, USA. It acts as an optional alternative to the conventional double silicon crystal monochromato...

A double mirror W/C multilayer monochromator for radiation biology applications.

A double-mirror multilayer monochromator was developed for the purpose of irradiating live cell cultures at the Synchrotron Radiation Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison. The monochromator is designed for the soft x-ray region with photon energies between 270 and 2400 eV. Multilayer mirrors with 55 bilayers of W/C and a bilayer spacing of d = 3.0 nm are sputter deposited on Si substrates. B...

X-ray multilayer monochromator with enhanced performance.

An x-ray multilayer monochromator with improved resolution and a low specular background is presented. The monochromator consists of a lamellar multilayer amplitude grating with appropriate parameters used at the zeroth diffraction order. The device is fabricated by means of combining deposition of thin films on a nanometer scale, UV lithography, and reactive ion etching. The performance of thi...

Diamond Monochromator for High Heat Flux Synchrotron X-ray Beams

2 Single crystal silicon has been the material of choice for x-ray monochromators for the past several decades. However, the need for suitable monochromators to handle the high heat load of the next generation synchrotron x-ray beams on the one hand and the rapid and on-going advances in synthetic diamond technology on the other make a compelling case for the consideration of a diamond monochro...

Thermal-Economic Optimization of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger by using a new Multi-Objective optimization method

Many studies are performed by researchers about Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger but the Multi-Objective Big Bang-Big Crunch algorithm (MOBBA) technique has never been used in such studies. This paper presents application of Thermal-Economic Multi-Objective Optimization of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Using MOBBA. For optimal design of a shell and tube heat exchanger, it was first thermally model...
